Have you ever tried to metalize, and then coat with a layer of precious metal, any plant, bird feather, insect, tree leaf etc? Now, thanks to this chemical kit, you can do it without any problem!
This kit includes everything necessary for metalizing various organic and natural materials, including flowers, plants, leaves, insects etc. In order to metallize plants, flowers and various other natural materials, the object in question must be deeply dried and then processed for a few minutes in the fixative solution.
After this the surface of the item is treated with a number of thin binder coatings. When processing porous materials, to achieve an even primer coating on the whole of surface, it is recommended that 3-4 coats of primer are applied with short intermediate drying periods. Then, the item is immersed in the readymade metallization solution. After this the item is removed from the solution, washed with water, and immersed in the electrolyte for bright copper-plating.
Stages of the metallization process:
- An initial 25-30 minutes of processing in the fixative solution.
- Tie the item with copper wire and cover it with a number of coats of the binder.
- Dry the item.
- Processing with metallization solution for 10-30 minutes.
- Wash.
- Application of the “tightening" layer.
The process of copper plating is carried out using a low current until the surface is completely covered with a copper layer. After copper-plating, the item can be applied with a layer of bright nickel, or the surface can alternatively be coated with gold. Using a 2 liter kit you can metalize an overall surface area of 2.5m2.
